Living appoints new Financial Controller

Living by Robertson has appointed Louise King as its new Financial Controller.  As well as being involved in all areas from land purchase, construction programmes, sales, technical and commercial, Louise will also be responsible for the development of the finance team which she aims to grow as the business expands.

Like all housebuilders, Living has weathered all the economic challenges of the last few years, from Covid to the present cost of living crisis. During this time, it has won Housebuilder of the Year, three years in a row.

Louise King, from Callander has been with the Robertson Group since 2016 initially hired as a management accountant with Robertson Homes and moving to Living by Robertson in 2019. She said: “When I joined Living, I saw it as an exciting opportunity to be part of the team to help them grow a new business. It’s not every day you get to be involved in a business from the very beginning.”

Louise said “We have an ambitious growth plan for the next five years and are looking to achieve five-star housebuilder status. We will continue to focus on delivering high quality energy efficient homes at a more affordable price for our customers.”

“We run a lean machine at Living by Robinson, but we are a passionate team and we have grown together. Four years down the line, we are going from strength to strength. No doubt we have faced our challenges, two years ago during covid we were running on minimum staff, but we are now in a strong position.”

She said: “I would like to see the Living brand become a more prominent and well-known brand.  We want to be an employer of choice, bringing in the best people and giving them the environment to grow and develop.  We may be a smaller team now, but we will soon catch up with our sister brand Robertson Homes to become a name that people will know and trust.”

Louise was inspired to follow a path into finance by her gran who worked in the finance department of a major outlet brands. She was a real trailblazer. “I looked up to her and I naturally gravitated toward it as a career. As soon as I found myself on that journey, I had to study and sit a lot of exams, but I know now that I have found my vocation and I am in the right place.”
