A lifestyle in bricks

Most people think builders build houses but in reality we build communities; relationships; new friendships and interests too.

A first home is one of the most exciting times in anyone’s life. It’s a time of new beginnings and of new-found independence. Sometimes it also coincides with a new romance or the cementing of an existing one into a more permanent commitment.

Almost certainly it involves the joy of freedom from landlords or living with family or flatmates – though possibly tinged with a bit of confusion as to how to put up lovingly-chosen new light fittings. It may also be a time of first dealings with conveyancing lawyers and mortgage brokers.

There are shy pleasantries to be exchanged with new neighbours as cars are parked side by side, maybe leading to an invitation for drinks to get to know them better.

Being able to supply the context for all of this to take place is one of the best bits of our job.

Living – we chose our name carefully as that’s what it’s all about

Creating the right conditions for lifestyle and community building starts right back with selecting land. Before we buy, we will visit a site and look around. We will tour the streets to spot shops and leisure opportunities and really get a feel for what it might be like to live there.

Price is also important since we want to build value into the property; adding as high a spec as possible in fixtures and fittings, while keeping prices accessible for those inching their first foot towards the property ladder.

Then there are important touches such as landscaping and car parking and the strength of the local transport network. All of these contribute greatly to the ease and sheer joy of moving into a brand new home.

Learning new skills

A lot of our buyers may not have bought a property before so we make sure we provide as much information as we can; sharing useful contacts and local referrals from other purchasers.

We provide affordability calculators for mortgages and can point people to sources of independent advice. We’ll also help with any government schemes such as Help To Buy – and where we can, throw in an incentive or two of our own to help bring someone’s dream of home ownership that bit closer.

Happily ever after

Our job is to create the best possible conditions for people to feel joy and pride in owning their own home. After that, how they decorate it and how their life is enhanced by home ownership comes down to their personal preferences.

For us, the joy is in playing our part well to create genuine Happy Ever Afters.
